Best proxy workflow for multi-machine editing?

I work between a desktop and laptop. Whats the best way to set up proxies so I can edit on both machines without re-generating? Currently using Optimized Media but those files only work on the machine that created them.

Use Proxy files instead of Optimized Media. In Project Settings under Master Settings theres a Proxy Generation section. Generate proxies to a shared folder on your NAS or external drive. Then both machines can use the same proxy files.

Proxy files are the way to go for multi-machine. Generate them as quarter res DNxHR LB. Keep them on a portable SSD or NAS that both machines can access. The timeline knows how to switch between original and proxy automatically.

Set up proxy generation on the NAS, working great from both machines now. The quarter res DNxHR LB plays smooth even on my laptop. This was the missing piece of my workflow, thanks.
